Firefighter I National Certification Exam

The Firefighter I National Certification Exam will start promptly at 8:00 a.m.on Saturday, May 12, 2012. Students are advised to arrive at the Fire Academy at 7:30 a.m. This exam consists of a 150 question multiple choice exam and hands-on skills testing.  

Students must complete all classroom lectures and hands-on training with the Suffolk County Fire Academy.  The National Certification Exam application and Training Authorization form are available in our download section under Firefighter I Course Materials and must be submitted with $50 check, money order, or department voucher payable to the Suffolk County Fire Academy.  The Application and Training Authorization Form must be submitted at the first hands-on training class.
