This six-session course will be held at the Huntington Fire Department except for Session 5 which will be held at the Fire Academy. The dates for this course are:  Thursday, March 22; Thursday, March 29; Thursday, April 5; Thursday, April 12; Thursday, April 26; and Thursday; May 3, 2012. There are a limited number of openings (11) available and registration is on a first-come, first served basis.  Registration is required.   Prerequisite:  Firefighter I or Scene Support Operations

The Firefighter I National Certification Exam will start promptly at 8:00 a.m.on Saturday, April 14, 2012. Students are advised to arrive at the Fire Academy at 7:30 a.m.  This exam consists of a 150 question multiple choice exam and hands-on skills testing.   Students must complete all classroom lectures and hands-on training with the Suffolk County Fire Academy.  The National Certification Exam application and Training Authorization form are available in our download section under Firefighter I Course Materials and must be submitted with $50 check, money order, or department voucher payable to the Suffolk County Fire Academy.  The Application and Training Authorization Form must be submitted at the first hands-on training class.    Seats are limited and registration is required.
