Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus
The following NAUI and/or PADI courses if instruction are offered for Districts/Departments who have an organized SCUBA team or who desire to obtain training for firefighters who will become part of an organized team.
Only firefighters covered under the Volunteer Fireman’s Benefit Law are allowed to enroll in these courses.
| Open Water I SCUBA: |
Diver:10 classroom hrs 20 hrs in water |
| Open Water II SCUBA (Advanced): |
15 classroom hrs; dive in water at local site and deep water dive |
| Diving Rescue Techniques (CPR required): |
12 hrs; 8 hrs in water at local site |
| Tethered Search & Rescue: |
4 hrs classroom; 2-4 hrs in pool; 2 days in water, 2 dives each day |

All costs for the aforementioned courses must be paid directly by the firefighter and/or their District/Department.
