In November and December 2006, the New York State Fire Academy conducted their Structural Building Collapse Program for the Town of Islip Technical Rescue Team at SCFA.  Twenty students from Bohemia Fire Department, Hauppauge Fire Department, Lakeland Fire Department and West Islip Fire Department completed the 82 hour program. 

The program included classes in concrete cutting and breaking, torch cutting of steel, interior and exterior shoring, heavy rigging and void search and rescue.
